Are we getting any compensatory picks when the Burner leaves or is that for the 2009 draft?

I agree, If we can get a game changing NT that would be the idea. Jamal's knees can't seem to hold up for a whole year. Mind you, I don't imagine NT's have long careers with the pounding they take inside. I think we suffered on run stopping with Jamal out for a lot of the year.

I really think that Dominique R-Cromartie would look good next to his cousin Antonio!!! I don't think he will be around by the time the Chargers pick.

Running back in one of the later rounds would also be needed.

I say we should go CB. We need 3 good CBs to beat the spread offenses of Indy and NE.

Paul Oliver's future is at S according to SDUT's Kevin Acee.

We're good at LB. Waters, Dobbins, and Siler will compete with Wilhelm to start alongside of Coop.

We can get a NT in the second day. Athyba Ruben and Red Bryant are two guys we can look at in the second day.

Going back to corner, I like DRC, Leodis McKelvin, and Mike Jenkins.

It would be next year, and only if he does well.

I highly doubt Bryant is still on the board on day 2. A solid DT that will be around on day 2 though is Trevor Laws. He'll be a great pickup for any team that gets him. Yes, I'm biased, but considering he was voted the hardest working player at the senior bowl, and had the game to prove it, I can justify that statement.

I didn't even need to read through 3 pages of this thread. I knew what I was going to post and there it was with the FIRST post.

Ryon Bingham is okay, he's no Jamal Williams, but that being said FEW are. A former co-worker of mine used to date him.

    Defensively.....

I agree we need a secondary guy or two, but considering our youth there I'd like to do that through free agency.

Jamal isn't done yet. Again, pick up depth there through free agency for now.

    Offensively....

I'd like to see us take a solid lineman.

When it comes time to replace Neal, I'd like to do that with a proven vet.

Overall, we could take an offensive, or defensive lineman with 3 of our first 4 picks and I'd be perfectly happy. Now is the time to do it because we're set at the playmaking positions.

SonofaBolt Go AJ! And take Norv with you.

I think it's based more what kind of contract he signs with another team as opposed to how he performs for his next team. Or it might be based upon his last tendered contract. San Diego signed him to tenders equivalent to a 1st and 3rd round contract. If San Diego fails to sign any free agents as starters during free agency, then San Diego will be awarded the maximum compensatory pick, which I believe is a 3rd rounder.

Another idea, being that we really do not have any glaring needs that need first round attention, we could trade out of the first round. That way, maybe we can get some sort of second rounder and maybe another 2nd day pick to shore up in some depth areas.

All I know is that AJ is probably gonna do something smart, like he always does.

Yea thats what I am starting to think. If there isn't a special player to fill a need (a NT, right OG or RT, ILB, SS). I say we trade down and draft more dpeth.

Does anyone have an link stating Oliver is moving from corner to safety. Does it have anything to do with his slow 40 time?
