My laptop is only a year old sucka! It's only GTP and it's only some of the time. I don't get it. Does it on my iPad too.
I feel you....lots of right now stuff, just doesn't move me. I only keep up because it's part of making a living in the industry and knowin' current trends helps. Whether it's writing, producing, picking music for shows, or whatever....I gotta know what's up. Plus my private students talk about stuff and I can't sound like the out of touch old dude....at least not yet!
My bad.....it was blank spots where the embedded joints was supposed to be......G did that update Monday and I thought it might have messed up your Texas Instruments or somethin'.....LOL! I didn't know......I was tryin' to help you out home skillet!.......LOL!!!
lol I was going to go further into the drug analogy but decided to tune it down...and look at you!!! drugs are actually closer to what you say about music than they are the way you describe above. It's not that one messes you up more, it's that they do different things (but an addict knows when he finds the one he loves) The ones you chose-pot, speed and shrooms are (according to a friend of my brother who read a book about a guy who knew someone who did drugs) a perfect example because they are all very different. but yeah on exploring the music put that way! lol. And it doesn't mean I wont dabble in it just because it doesn't knock my socks off. In fact, I listen to the other stuff often
I don't like codeine that much but this particular flavor really does it for me! for real, epic---hairs standing on end right now
Nino...I caught Marsalis at the Newport Jazz Fest about 7 or 8 years ago. Dianna Krall was there too that day. It was nice, but it was windy that day and we were far back so the wind was carrying the sound all over so it didn't sound as good as it could have. But still very good and a really cool setting to see a show. Can't speak on Grover. I like and respect jazz very much, I just haven't explored as much as say hip hop. 2 of my all time fav's are Byrds "Flight Time"...just an awesome track, so good.....and Idris Muhammads "Lorans Dance". They both have songs within the song if that makes sense at all. I'm drawn to funky horns so The JBs and James Brown are what I reach for when I want to get funkay....lol Heck ya I rocked those long ass socks. The longer the better. Now look...I was ahead of my time...lol And about moving with the curvy chicks....I have rhythm for days in my mind....I can clap to a beat correctly...but a dancer I am not. I can head nod like nobodies business though! I appreciate you sharing your story. You are obviously very talented. I might just grab one of those Snickers too!...lol
I don't use, but where I'm from...you get familiar!....LOL! OK then....I guess I just like being in the altered state regardless of what gets me there. I'm a junkie without a drug of choice!...LOL!
You'll be ten years tryin' to hear "Jazz" and just gettin' fluent! There's so much there and everybody just gets you deeper and deeper in the vapors! I still have whole catalogs of some people to listen to, but I feel I'm pretty versed on the subject even if I can't tell you every dude that played on the Midnight Session in '57. I'm big on horns and strings. A blazin' horn section or some lush strings are all you need to set a song off! My favorite 2 horn arrangements under vocals ever: You weren't ahead of your time....we all had those striped socks back then....kids just think they're brilliant whenever they find something folks haven't done in awhile now....but they have nothing new. They will nod their heads to anything! Without sounding like an old man.....That's why i like growing up when I did. We retried lots of stuff, but everything hadn't been done yet. Microwaves were new when I was a kid. VCRs were new when I was a kid. HBO, MTV, BET.....hell cable TV wasn't new but it might as well have been when I was a kid. Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future, Die Hard, and Terminator were new when I was a kid. Metallica was new when I was a kid. Hip-hop was new when I was a kid. Transformers was new when I was a kid. The McRib was new when I was a kid. Pop Rocks and Big League Chew was new when I was a kid. Kelly LeBrock, Cindy Crawford, Kathy Ireland, Naomi Campbell, Christina Applegate, and Vanessa Williams were new when I was a kid! So what crack and AIDs were new when I was a kid too.....it was a better time dangit! Those snicker almonds are new, but hot dang if they haven't found a winner right there!
I can remember my parents telling me "what the he'll do we need a VCR for"? They had 3 by the time dvd's came out...lol They protested microwaves so much, the one my gram gave us was plugged into an outlet in the garage....talk about a pain in the ass. I went through a Metallica phase for a summer but was afraid to mention it for fear Oz might make fun of me...I'm not sure how Metallica is measured in the metal world. You forgot Elle McPherson! Lol I had a chance to see Tower a couple times and didn't. Shame on me.
