So much for a "dynasty" they've been cheating since 2000! So much for their success. So much for Bellicheck being such a "mastermind" "guru" the guy just had access to illegal film and studied opposing team's defensive calls, talk about an unfair advantage. He is a fraud, $500,000 is not a big enough fine for all these years and undeserved wins they accomplished. Strange he started taping in 2000 and the wins started racking up...

Give me a quarterback and then call into his helmet what the defense is going to do based on your formation and I'll give you an unstoppable offense. Total bullshit.

I think at the very least they need to hand over the Lombardi they won against the Rams, St. Louis looks like it deserved that one. I would be interested to watch that SB and see what happened during the Ram's red zone drives. Like if they threw a flare in the endzone to a certain person and if he was double or triple covered, or a misdirection play that is easily snuffed out by the Pats, something they would have gained by taping the closed practice session prior to the game. Anyone know where you can watch old Superbowls online? Looks like they were not only stealing defensive calls, they were video taping offensive plays too! I hope the former video taper comes out and tells us everything like the congressman wants, at least he didn't deny it at the pro bowl.

Just like ancient China had it's Ming Dynasty, Nu Englund has it's Lying Dynasty... Winning through cheating, so much for their "Can't Do Wrong" image. The worst part is that Goodell acknowledged this to a US Senator, there must surely be more crap to roll their way...

Since the NFL isn't going to take away the Lombardis maybe congress will. They can call it the New England Patriot Act.:D

    Trying to justify Goodell's action

Why do you think NFL Commissioner Goodell had those tapes destroyed when the Pats handed them over after the Jets game? He didn't want to risk the fans demanding a revisionist account of those New England Super Bowl Championships and he wanted to spare their owner, Kraft, from public embarrassment. On the otherhand, they only handed over 6 tapes and some notes and if there really is more to this, Bellicheat will be exposed for the fraud that he is. Maybe the video guys for the Pats did their own "Brian McNamee store the evidence stunt"? If so, this offseason before the draft won't be so boring afterall.

Screw Goodell, if the tapes weren't that damaging to the NFL and all the past Patriots Superbowl seasons he wouldn't have destroyed them. His decision was good for the NFL and its owners no doubt, but bad for the fans, who ultimately pay his salary.

Congress should take away the NFL's anti trust exemption, and MLBs while they are at it, give them to a new league, maybe IOC or some other world body, Fifa maybe, whoever hasn't been infludenced by the $$$, I guess all the sports leagues are filled with scandals with so much money its corrupted the whole idea of fair competition. Boxing, cycling, football, baseball, ice skating, is there anything fans can actually belive isn't rigged by some cheaters or powerful businessmen who will stop at nothing to generate money and when called out on it, just fire up the shredders.

I remember Goodell being questioned on NFL Network about the number of tapes and if he thought there were more. He said that if he ever found out there was more to the story than Bellicheat told him, the investigation would re-opened and more severe punishment would be dealt out. Thats why he destroyed them, becuase he wanted to destroy ALL the evidence and if anything ever surfaced again that means they would be obviously hiding more tapes.

so did Goodell destroy the Rams Superbowl walk through tape? If that surfaces than I guess Bill Belicheat didn't send him ALL the tapes and I hope to see him thrown out of the league.

If we could just apply this lucidity and honesty to how we see other theft in broad daylight conspiracies...
