Cross another team off the list. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the Chargers have reached agreement on a four-year contract with strong safety Brandon Taylor. That makes them the fifth team in the league to sign all of their draft picks. The Chargers targeted Taylor and traded up with the Dolphins…[IMG]

    LightsoutSD BRING YOUR LUNCH PAIL!!

Yes, at least the days of rookies like Jammer, LT, Rivers etc holding out are over. The Bolts were the holdout center of the universe back in the day. So glad that's in the past.

Please people, don't think any of this has anything to do with better management, cuz we have the same shit management we've had for years now. The new salary cap for rookies has less wiggle room in it and salaries are far more standardized wage/contract index, especially on first round picks. This minimizes the haggling back and forth and gets rookies in camp without holdouts.

sradigan The idiot fan, I keep coming back!

Killjoy! Right when I was feeling that everything was okie dokie.

I do agree with you though, but for whatever reason, it is nice not to have to be dealing with it this year.

harbarjaphar Ingram + Barnes = pass rush

Hope you are proven wrong on this one. Since the Beathard era, the main reason why the team has been a contender was the performance of AJ Smith. When the team drafted Eli and traded for Rivers, he was undeniably a badass. Now, "fans" like you have reduced him to "shit management", and I think that's ignorant. The team has not been to the playoffs for TWO years in a row. Wow. Get over it. The Chargers haven't suffered a losing season in a long time, but it's all for naught with some "fans" who accept nothing less than a SB. I have to temper my enthusiasm, but I can't imagine three consecutive years of debilitating injuries as we have, so at least in that respect, we should take a step forward this year. I predict that "shit management" hit the jackpot with Ingram and that a more balanced offense will lead the team to nine or ten wins and a playoff berth.

    Wow, aren't we testy today.

Look, I support this team regardless of how badly AJ has depleted this roster over the years......................but, I'm more than justified in voicing my opinion when I see the team going in the wrong direction. This years draft (which I loved overall) and free agency moves (not impressed, jury is out on all those moves IMO) are more a product of desparation as well as a product of the criticism AJ has received for performing poorly in both areas the last several years. Spanos said it himself, essentially telling AJ to change his methods and turn the team around or he'll be gone next year.

And as if I'm the only one to voice this negative point of view on our management on this site the last few years :)

LOL, some of us "fans" just realize a that something stinks when we see a shit sandwich. As if it needs mentioned one more time in the infinite amount of criticism all of us "fans" have expressed in these forums. AJ is not a quality GM, and he has insulted, alienated, and ran off more quality talent in contract disputes and insulting offers while simultaneously overpaying mediocre (at best) talent at other times. In case you weren't paying attention, Eli was NEVER going to come here and that "trade" was made out of necessity, not with expert management skills. We fell into that situation and those extra picks because we had little other options.

Sorry to offend a rare AJ supporter on here, but in case you haven't noticed, he is not exactly revered on this site. Regardless, I hope the team rebounds this year as well!!

Of course you're entitled to voice your opinion. My point is that real fans don't turn on their team when it hits bumps in the road. Winning eight and nine games in a season isn't exactly dismal, although it was disappointing. You act like this team has fallen apart and we drafted in the top five. BTW, the Eli trade was possible because AJ took the risk of drafting him and then making the trade afterward. That shouldn't be dismissed IMO...
I suppose I am one of the few Chargers fans who supports both Norv and AJ. They both have tremendous knowledge and skill, and I don't like to see either disrespected. It's kinda like when the president you vote for loses the election, and you have to accept the other candidate. Some people won't, but I feel that whether we're talking a coach or a president, you support the guy in charge (up to a point, of course), even when you don't like them. Calling AJ "shit management" was just too much for me... He doesn't deserve that IMO.

    Boltfan of Oz MVP

Thinking both are doing great is as bad as thinking both are doing bad... They are not cloned twins sharing the same duties. When objectively looking at the job aj has done, 8-8 looks pretty damn good for norv. Even if you ignore what was laid out by jmood and others and say AJ is swell, then turner is doing bad.

The president analogy would work for those who think you must blindly support leadership of all levels... But it doesn't even make rational sense with the president. If he's shit, he's shit, no matter how much one supports him. Pretty sure too with the current one that many people who liked him, no longer do... Much like AJ
