Sheli Gets No Love From Me!!!

You can call me a hater, but I'm still not impressed.

Several not so great QBs have rings. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson to name a couple.

I will give him credit for staying kool (or stoic whichever you prefer) and playing relatively well. His one scramble to avoid pressure was great and he made a handful of great throws but.....

I'm still not a Sheli fan! There are about as many reasons to not be impressed as there are to think he did well this game.

    1. First of all......the defense won the game for the Giants....let's be clear! They held that offense to 14 points and almost nobody thought that was possible even if you thought the Giants could win.

    2. Samuel probably would have sealed the game for NE with a pick of Eli on one play.

    3. Tyree made one of the all-time great circus catches...pinning the ball to his helmet to extend that drive.

    4. Toomer makes a special catch on that one sideline throw where he falls out of bounds.

    5. They blamed the WR on the interception, but he was barely out of his break when he had to try and track that early pass. (we saw Rivers under pressure do this several times this season)

    6. It turned out not to hurt in the end, but he missed Toomer wide open on the one play when he threw into double coverage in the endzone to Plax. Could've been picked if the Pats CBs weren't so little and could jump.

    7. The fade pass to Burress is picked off by most descent corners in the league, as it fell well short of the back of the endzone and Plax had to turn all the way around for the ball. Even Florence probably makes that play!

In the end...his team won and yes he has a ring and I guess that's kinda all he needs, but I'm not done disliking him!

DocBolthead The Doctor is REAL In!!!

L'Nino, I can't imagine anybody really Liking She-li on this Forum. He dissed this franchise like No one else ever has and I will never forgive him for that reason alone!
The Giants are gonna be toast the next time they play us because #1. we're better and #2. We are gonna be so damn hungry next season it won't be funny!!! #3. Our D will CRUSH Eli in the pocket!!!! Seriously, this team is and will totally overmatch them.

I didn't watch, but from what I heard, I wasn't impressed with his performance except for one play, but that sounded more like Tyree should have credit.

The QB always gets it when no one performance stands out.

I'm not a Eli fan either, but give credit where and when its due. He didn't screw-up the game, he hung onto the ball, made plays when he had to and kept his cool. Not a great or outrageous performance, but good enough to beat the Patsies. The real MVP's of the game should have been the Giants defense. They beat the Patsies to death.

I'm actually trying to give credit where it's due.....Giants D, Giants WRs, then Pats D in that order!

His team won...can't take that from him, but....

Did I get any of those points wrong as far as his play in the game goes???

It worked out and they got the victory, but he didn't look like his brother out there to me at all.

He made about 5 throws that were spot on and looked sharp, got bailed out by Tyree on a great escape play where he heaves up a potential INT against many secondaries in the league, and then got just an impressive performance from his defense.

I almost forgot the big run after the catch from his TE. We would never give Rivers all the credit for a play like that for the Chargers.......Gates would be one of the heroes for sure making that play and we would say so on this board, cause I've seen us do it!

To me....he looked like the beneficiary of a fantastic defense which led to a very tired Pats D, cause they were on the field plenty and looked rather old in this one.

I am willing to give that he didn't cost his team in a big game like that, but in the spirit of always hating what he did to my team.....I am calling it how I saw it..........

    Bottom line......he did enough.....no more....no less!!!
