I'm a die-hard CHARGERS fan and a PADRES fan .. but I think that San Diego can support an NBA or/and MLS team if we build a stadium for the CHARGERS(hopefully), it's gonna be great to host basketball and soccer games in it too. Thousands of people would go and we can see couple of thousands go to Qualcomm when there is a soccer game. Why go to L.A. to watch the L.A. Galaxy. Just saying ..

    You might say
San Diego is a lousy sports town:paddle: . But, Sure it only has 2 pro teams but I can't imagine San Diego :nope2: without the Padres or Chargers.:nope:

Why? they'll be down to 1 sports team in a few years. Just sayin! The politicos just don't give a shit about sports & the potential revenue.

SonofaBolt Go AJ! And take Norv with you.

Doubtful if the NBA would consider San Diego, given our history of not supporting basketball. We gave Houston the Rockets, and the Clippers didn't even have to sneak away in the dead of night when they left for LA.

A lot of Diegans showed up at the Sports Arena to help them pack.

I hope not .. the CHARGERS are very valuable to our city's economy and politicians won't know that unless they lose them.
1- You can see the bussinesses here benifit from the CHARGERS (gas stations, resturants, marketing, and tourism .. etc.):p
2- Hosting a superbowl (if the BOLTS) get a new stadium would be great.:D
3- We can host events and even other sport teams (in the new stadium hopefully).
4- It would create jobs (we all know how much people are suffering to get a job).:)
AND THE BEST .. it's a pride to see the name SAN DIEGO chargers. (in the NFL map)
LOL that's all I can think of .. and I'm sure there are many more things that benifit the city of SAN DIEGO just because of them BOLTZ :old:

Bob Breitbard sold the Rockets after the city screwed him with a heavy increase in taxes for the Sports Arena. It was the only way he could raise the money to pay...

The city can't even get fans to attend games for the two professional teams they have. Adding two more is one of the worst ideas I've ever read.

Sorry but think that the football team is more economic and brings in more jobs than an NBA team would. But who knows though?!

    Saxman New year, new hope...

I hate Soccer, so on THAT, I couldn't care less.

I still follow the Clippers and have since the 70's. They would still be in San Diego had they not had THE WORST OWNER IN PROFESSIONAL SPORTS! People quit going because THEY SUCKED!

It doesn't bode well for the city, having a Double-A team at Petco and the bullshit going on at Qualcomm with Dean's Idiot Experiment running amok.

I would be all for the city having Pro Teams in EVERY league but ownership groups in San Diego have NEVER committed to winning. When they don't, people bail and spend their money at Sea World or go hang out at Mission Bay or the beaches, then the owners claim they are losing money. A$$HOLE$!

San Diego has fans that are every bit as good as anywhere else. They just have better options of activities than most Pro Cities when their teams try to make money off of a fan base with an OBVIOUSLY inferior product. (What does Green Bay have, minus their Packers, for example?)

It is REAL simple: field a team that competes, year in, year out, and ownership will not have to worry about profits. Go cheap and piss off your fanbase, year in, year out, and they will find better things to do with their time. Especially in a place like San Diego...
