    swoop I post stuff.

Junior Seau had just turned 21 when the San Diego Chargers selected him with the fifth overall pick in the 1990 NFL draft, but he was already fully formed as everything a linebacker should be. Seau, who had led USC to back-to-back Rose Bowls and owned a Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year trophy, tackled…[IMG]

    Fully Charged Spanos=Commited to Championship

WOW. Looking back at the pictures I have seen of him in the media since he retired, he didn't look happy. I know that it is easy to say now, but I did have that thought cross my mind a couple of times in the last year. He did have a sort of lost look in his eyes.

You play the game the way he did, with the passion he did, being idolized like he was....and then it's over (20 years later, but OVER). He played longer than 3/4 of the players who play at any position, in any sport. Retirement can be a tough adjustment for anyone, let alone an athlete. I thought there was a support program for retirees through the NFLPA or something. I don't know if things would be different, or if he would have sought out their help.

    It is just really sad.

Seau will always be one of my favorite Chargers.

Good football player. However when I met him at a party at his house 3 years ago and afterwards we all went to Coyote in Carlsbad, I can't say he was a pleseant person to be around. My friend was Dr. Chow's Limo driver, the Chargers team doctor (under investigation + DUIs etc), who was good friends with Seau. So I spent some time at his house at the O'side strand. Lots of alcohol, I invited him to Coyote in our limo, then he throws me out of the limo. We get to Coyote's and he wants to sit alone. I had my g/f with me at the party and she hated him because when she was a water girl for Mission Bay's football team, Seau appeared at Jack Murphy as she was walking out the tunnel he was walking in and tried to feel her up she said stop and he said exact quote "you know you want my hand on you" she threw his hands off and told him she was 16! His team mate started busting up as she told him off. Fast forward 10 years later at his house and he didn't remember her.

Aside from that, from my friend the limo driver he had to pull him out of Hard Rock downtown for starting fights with bouncers, "do you know who I am?". I just got the sense he turned to alcohol. My g/f also decorated his old home in La Jolla with Xmas decorations back in the 90's and his wife took that and the kids, I"m sure that and losing half his money was hard to take.

Sorry, good football player, but from throwing drinks in women's faces and other stuff I saw personally, I didn't like the guy.
