    Saxman New year, new hope...

V.J. was out a number of games because of his actions OFF the field, hence he IS a dumbass. Still, I think he could have continued to be productive for the Chargers had the dumbass G.M. resigned him.

Always nice to have extra WR camp depth, but I think he would take way reps from a few others that need them badly.

I think he's a solid player....like him a lot. But we are gonna have a pretty deep set at WR.

I would have went more in-depth on my "pass" comment, but was at work and really couldnt at the time.....(busy answering all the "where's chumlee"...."wheres Rick" questions half the day.......lol).....

harbarjaphar Ingram + Barnes = pass rush

Really? You'd never heard of Royal or Meachem?? Add in Floyd, Vincent Brown, plus Parrish and Spurlock as ST players/reserves, and IMO, the team is loaded at WR. Considering that Gates, McMichael, Sperry, Rosario, and now 6'6" rookie Ladarius Green make for a very deep tight end corps (I doubt Sperry and Rosario make the team). I don't think the team needs more pass catchers...

AJ would look like a moron if he signed VJ to a huge contract and he had another DUI. That would result in a one-year suspension. Too much risk for that kind of money. I like Meachem/Royal better than VJ anyways... Gives the Bolts more diversity to their passing game IMO.

I was referring to what he might sign AFTER he had signed Meachem and Royal. OF COURSE I knew them. I like the signings but I would feel better having one more veteran WR when Floyd tanks again this year.

Which one of them can go over the middle, up high and come down with the ball in traffic and take a hit? Or block down field as good as VJ.
Not to justify his actions but the only reason he got pulled over the morning before the playoff game is because he was black and had his music on loud - and he still had a 100yd receiving day, even if you -15 for kicking the challenge flag. Then again the whole team melted down that day. Dude has been a model citizen since 2009 and the Chargers will miss him.

If he was such a model citizen and player since 2009 (actually January of 2010. The last time the Chargers stumbled into the playoffs) why was he not on the field for 32 games over 2010 and 2011?

Sax 16 games x 2 seasons = 32 games. He played in 4 or 5 games in 2010 and he played in 13-14 in 2011. Being a model citizen means he didn't break any laws or make a spectacle of himself or his employer in a illegal or immoral way. An employment dispute or injuries he incurred while at work have nothing to do with his conduct while not acting as an employee of the Chargers.

I saw improvement last year, I grant you. 2010 was beyond ridiculous and could have been the difference between going to the playoffs and what happened: NOT going.
