    swoop I post stuff.

The Chargers haven’t kept it a secret this offseason that they want third-year tailback Ryan Mathews to handle a significant 2012 workload. From what I have seen, Mathews has plenty of desire left on his 15, 16, 17th...etc carry. He runs like he's pissed now. If he can stay healthy, I'm very confident he can give us what we need from him and more if asked.

Yeah, this media attention Norv is putting on this makes me suspicious. I think he will definitely be asked to do more, but to speculate we'll expect him to put up Emmit Smith or Ricky Williams type of carry numbers is not happening. This is PR's team and Matthews can do a lot to take some pressure off of him by creating a respectable running game, but don't expect 2012 to be the Chargers version of "ground and pound".

With all the options Rivers has to throw to I don't see Matthews as the ground pounder they are making him out to be but healthy he will keep defenses honest instead of everyone dropping back. I like it.
