    swoop I post stuff.

Last year we passed along word of a legal challenge to the NFL’s conduct policy for fans. Now the fan challenging that policy is coming forward to press his case and say he shouldn’t have been kicked out of a stadium for dropping an F-bomb is filing a lawsuit over it. Eric Holguin, an off-duty…[IMG]

    Saxman New year, same shit...

I have no problem with profanity in a public place, though I DO try not to use it around children. Yes, I am an advocate for freedom of speech, but I DO believe that speech should be used responsibly. I am just glad this code doesn't apply to my living room!

As far as this "Fan Code Of Conduct", my question is this: did all Football fans sign such a code? Each and every one? Not likely!

Now, if the code is printed on the back of the ticket or handed out with each and every ticket purchased, saying that purchasing a ticket for the game binds you to said code, this guy has no leg to stand on. I know players sign one in their contracts, but fans? Whatever! If they were to throw out EVERY fan in Qualcomm that used profanity over the last two years alone, the games would be played to an empty stadium.

It is like purchasing a ticket for a Baseball game. On the ticket, I have read that the league, teams and stadium are not responsible for objects flying into the stands, etc.

This guy was an off-duty member of the LAPD? I have heard cops use language that Sailors would find over the top!

    This is such bullshit!

    Santo Celt Pride Baby..Let's GO!

I once sat next to some 18 year old kid at a Celtics game who wore a wife beater shirt with "wife beater" markered on to it and screamed every possible combination of the most vile language he could think of at Jason Kidd a couple days his domestic case happened. While I have no real issue with bad language personally, this kid made it impossible to enjoy the game. Thankfully he was asked to keep his mouth shut by security before I had to ask him. It amazes me what people say around women and children.

Someone picking a fight is a game changer though. It's tough to control language when you're about to throw down.

Old School Bolt What Next Season Could Amount To

I guess we've grown afraid of putting "social pressure" on people who think they have a license to act like an @#$hole in public places. When I hear people who have a limited command of the English language, I ask them "do you kiss your mom with that mouth." Shuts them every time. As for this bone head "exercising his constitutional right" to swear in public, remember, those around him can exercise theirs by telling him to shut his yap and speak decently.

    chilli311 Back in CA

I can't remember if its on the tickets, but season ticket holders when renewing their season tickets had a clause that stated something to the effect of "by purchasing these tickets, you agree to abide by the code of conduct, and take responsibility of your guests." I remember seeing that in 09 when I renewed mine. I thought it was bullshit that if i sold them because i couldn't nake a game, I still assumed responsibility of the person who bought them.

Personally, I'm with Santo. I don't mind hearing, or even using, foul language, but there are assholes who do it to the point that it takes away from the event. That's another reason my wife doesn't want to go to any games again.

On your last comment though, I thought they already played to an empty stadium...

Boltfan of Oz Sir Norval The Brave

In Oz, there was a designated rowdy area at the footie stadium for Union. I wasn't in that area and having a normal-not drunk or rowdy- conversation with my friend and I said "fucking somthin somthin". A man behind us said, "Mate, watch your language for the kids". It was very bizarre to me but I thought it was so cool that I apologized and got him a beer when i went for the next round. I would look like a freak for doing it at an NFL game but if I found myself there with my children, I'd say something polite like that.
