To my suprise, everyone is having the issue. Thought I just had a bad DVR. Seems like they are fixing it with an update today. Check this thread.

I got pushed that software today after mine locked up. I've actually haven't been to happy with my HD-DVR from them because of the lock ups and my video keeps cutting out. I called today and I got a bitch that wasn't going to pay for the shipping to replace my fricking unit. I HATE that I don't own these boxes and yet there is still a warranty that if something happen I have to pay for it at $300 a piece

Yeah, the lock ups seem to have started a couple weeks ago. At least that's when mine first did it. Tonight it locked again, then I rebooted and it did the download a little while later.

I had an HR20, but now and HR21.

At least I know it's everyone and not just me.

they were going to replace my receiver but I didn't want to unless they could guarantee that it was one of the new black ones whatever model # that is... I know that I have an HR-20 now though

btw since they all are having issues at the same time think that there's a software programmer looking for a new job or laughing his ass off?

Don't get me started on that. My old one had a digital coax. They sent me a new one with no digital coax. After numerous calls, they finally allowed me to go to circuit city and buy what I needed and they credited me.

I have the HR-21 and it locked up for the first time that I know of 2 days ago, then last night new software was downloaded. And what is digital coax? As far as I know, coax is coax.

Digital coax is kinda like a single rca jack and carries 5.1 just like the fiber optic cable.

Ahh.. I looked it up. It's just a super shielded audio cable. Good for sound, will carry a video signal if you wanted to, but its not neccessary. When you deal with cabling, one rule of thumb is- if the tip is silver, it is 75 ohm video (this covers all standards), if it is gold, it is for audio.

In all my years selling electronics, I never realized that.
