Imagine this was a gang killing someone where one guy was more involved...the DA would divide and conquer til they got a maximum for someone and as much as they could get for the others....but not for cops!. Right now everyone is working on the playbook; like, he won't say the other cops let it happen if he's found not guilty or cops a lesser plea with guaranteed short time. The DA, "Union" (can't consider them union like other collective workers) and politicians are all on the same side in making this go back to normal
Ideally they are sworn to protect citizens regardless of what that entails, for the others to have stood by while the victims life was being crushed out of him, equates to accessory to murder for not doing their sworn duty in stopping the officer from inflicting more bodily harm to the victim regardless of what the situation was before they got there .....In an idealistic world at least
if your talking about the shooting on university and 45th, i believe it was a shotgun. i was within a mile of the incident when it happened and if you can imagine a swarm of starving sharks converging on a small area of mid-city searching frantically for a drop of blood, that was the scene in eastside san diego that day. Interestingly enough after listening to the police recordings, it sounded very calm and handled very professionally. bang up job by the dispatch lady amid the chaos and confused info coming in. anyways, the scene on the street was much more indicitive of the situation. in the end, the shooter (suicidal) confessed his actions to a neighbor in his apts, police responded after surrounding an alley across the street from the world famous tower bar. many civilians were on the street. everywhere. when police arrived and confronted the attacker, do you think they waited for people to get out of the way before opening fire? so sometimes even if you do what they say, you might accidently get shot. it was a mostly somalian neighborhood though so....which brings me to my next point, as long as your not bald w/ a mustache, or a darkie in a bad area, your not drawing attention to yourself and wont have a problem. well, aside from the obvious. most recent cop story #2. I was getting hammered with some random bar cops (again), they seemed to like my jukebox selections. then i remembered how i once played "free bird" for some el monte gang unit guys years back and they were so offended they made the bartendress override the juke and skip the song. again i played it and got the shitty faces. why!? maybe just a coincidence. a cop thang?
