The San Diego Chargers announced on Monday afternoon that they have released outside linebacker Travis LaBoy. LaBoy signed with the Chargers as an unrestricted free agent last year and started 14 games, but the Chargers have now apparently decided to go in another direction. A defense-heavy draft that saw the Chargers go with South Carolina…[IMG]

If you hadn't posted these no one would have noticed he was cut.

He had one foot out the door once we brought in Johnson. Ingram just slammed the door on it.

I'm still interested to see how they work the rotation. Johnson is a great run stuffer but Ingram has the potential to be a disruptive force on any down. Using Ingram strictly as a 3rd down pass rusher may be a waste of talent. Plus Barnes deserves to get worked in as well.

As long as Phillips is healthy I don't see him leaving the field much either. Rotations are good and all but pass rushing is sorta of a "go with the hot hand" type of deal as well.

    LightsoutSD BRING YOUR LUNCH PAIL!!

Might as well do it now. No way he was going to make the team. If Gamble has another good camp he'll probably get scooped up before he makes the PS. How many OLBs did they go with last year?

    Not quick enough laterally.

You have too much ground to cover as a middle or inside LB. Plus....I don't know how well he diagnoses a play.

If a play is coming right at him.....he's good enough to make that play, but if he was seeing everything and making plays all over the field......he'd get more attention.

I think we put Johnson on the left....keep Shaun on the right for 2 plays....then rotate in Barnes and Ingram on 3rd down opposite Shaun.

Not sure how the Spikes thing is going to work out, but I would like to see Butler and Mouton use their speed to make plays and I think I'd like to know if Gamble is any better, cause he looked like a project going in the right direction last year.

There was just no room for Laboy!
