Yeah.....I could stand to watch another truly great RB season froma guy wearing Bolts!

If he can stay healthy and on the field....I'll give him a chance to approach the league leaders with a real fullback on the squad again.

Burnaby Bolt Don't call me Burnberry!

I really like the fact that his focus is on holding onto the ball while getting stronger... really, my only knock against the guy is his tendancy to put the ball on the ground. Working out one arm at a time while holding the ball in the other shows that it's his priority and the priority of the coaches and training staff as well.

    This makes me optimistic!

SonofaBolt Go AJ! And take Norv with you.

“You should see him with his shirt off,” said fullback Jacob Hester, Mathews’ workout partner.

Where the hell is LARF when a perfect setup line like THAT gets dropped on us?

I don't know who LOAF is but I can handle any manly praise! Thanks!

You missed my whole quote though and it needs to be repeated because so many people think football is about the star. The running back without his shirt on may be super sexy and score touchdowns, but what the common fan doesn't know is that behind every great man is a man talking about how great that other man looks without his shirt on. Thank you San Diego fans for making sure that I stayed a throbbing member of the Chargers for so long.

Improved ball security will move will put him in the top tier of running backs. Still 105 days until the Bolts play Oakland on Monday night and and I am optimistic going into this season. Yes last year I was optimistic as well thinking that the new special teams coach (Rich Bisaccia) would put the team over the top. This year with the draft emphasizing the defense and a few free agents I really am optimistic and from what I hear I am not alone in this optimism for the Chargers. Go Bolts!!!

Spare me all the "this guy is really looking good in TRAINING CAMP" talk and the hype about how "This could be the season" bullshit [IMG]. Tired of hearing this year after year about a certain player here and there only to catch a steel-toe to the balls when the dude gobbles 30 yards of meatwhistle in the regular season .

Training camp accolades mean NOTHING at this point. This year is put or shut up and personally I'd rather they just shut the fuck up until otherwise.

Personally, I think I'd rather hear that we're gonna go 0-16 and have the #1 pick than this.

It's what I expected to be honest. Mathews is plenty good enough to be our steady RB. I thought last year he did well at turning nothing into something many times and he started to deliver contact to defenders. He's played hard through some injuries. He's tough. I think it's safe to be excited about what he can bring us this year.
