Very Rare, Orginal Nike "Bombs Away" Poster of San Diego Chargers' Players : Dan Fouts, Kellen Winslow, and John Jefferson. My poster is not in the best condition, being it's a 32 year-old poster. The original "Bombs Away" posters are very hard to find because only a limited amount were released from Nike back in 1980 due to NFL licensing issues. I'm asking $100 for the poster, and I live in Clairemont if you'd like to drop by and check it out. Jason - 858-776-1013 jasonmiller858@yahoo.com
Ah yes., the highly elusive "Bombs Away" poster. I bought mine a few years back from a seller on eBay..... I think I paid about $160 for mine., but it was in "brand new" condition. Hell., I still got it in the shipping tube.....I never got around to putting it on poster board. $100 is a pretty good price for that.....what might help you, is if you post multiple pics of it on here.
Mike, is there even any wall space left in the ChargeNasium? There wasn't the last time I saw photos, and that was about five years ago!
LOL.., unfortunately no., and is the reason why I haven't busted it out. I'll have to do some rearranging in order to get it to fit somewhere.
I have this poster in my gram's attic. I remember going to the shoe store here in CT when I was about 8 years old and my dad asked the place if we could buy it from them and they just gave it to us. There was a slight blemish in he area in the sky. So my mother being an artist, cut out the quarter sized blemish and filled it in with a piece of paper she colored to match. Came out great. Such a special poster to me.
I've only seen photos, but the Chargernasium is on my list of important places to visit, just after the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton and the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, but before the Breitbard Hall of Fame in San Diego/Largest Ball of Yarn in Cawker City, Kansas. CMike, you ever thought of changing the name from the Chargernasium to the Charge-Mahal?
Too true, too true. I spent many frustrated years there trying to get the administration to spend money and actually display their stuff, and celebrate local athletes and teams, just like their mission statement says. Pretty much to no avail. The place is a glorified sports-themed event center. No one on staff has any idea about anything they have in their collections.
