I always loved him as a player. I was heartbroken when he left San Diego, but I remember him as a Charger forever.

Gene Klein's stubborness to sign him to a long term deal was the worst thing that happened to this team. We lost our pass rush and as each year went by the defense got worse.

Yeah, Gene DID drop the ball on that, but he also DID put "Air Coryell" on the map.

Remember his getting all pissed off at Al Davis for blacking the games out in San Diego? THAT was BULLSHIT! Klein died not long after that. I have hated Al Davis for that most of all.

Now, I hope he lives forever...

you know... I didn't realize that probably because I was at the game :p
all I remember was that we had one of the best pass rushes in the league(Kelcher, Johnson & Dean) I just loved seeing all the defensive line at the pro bowl.

Al Davis? man he is gettin' so butt ugly as each year goes by. lol
